Little is being said about this, but it could be a very good step towards greater transparency in EU spending. We want it to be even better. We present our opinion on the Financial Regulation revision. 

The Open Spending EU Coalition welcomes the Commission proposal on the revision of the Financial Regulation which aims to improve the information provided to the public on the use of the Union budget and on recipients of Union funding. We see very great potential in the proposed legislation in increasing the transparency of spending from the EU budget. However, there are several key barriers to realising this potential.
